This Bella Arcs & Beauties FPP Expansion Pack is designed specifically to be used as a companion pattern to the Bella Quilted Coat.
It includes FPP (Foundation Paper Piecing) patterns and instructions for Flying Geese Arcs that radiate outward from the center back and are designed to be used on the back panel using contrasting or gradient colors.
Additionally, Flying Geese Beauties of a smaller scale geometrically mirror on each of side of the coat front.
Round out the design trifecta pattern bundle with the Bella Quilted Coat and the Bella Accent Sleeves FPP Expansion Pack which are available separately.

Participants will need access to a copier to copy the FPP pattern pieces provided in the printed pattern.

Makers who have mastered the basics for foundation paper piecing in Bella Accent Sleeves are ready to take their skills to the next level by learning to create blocks with multiple pattern pieces for more intricate designs in their garment and bag making, as well as quilting. Let your piecing tell a story through your use of fabrics and hypnotizing movement through curves.
Sewists will incorporate, and expand on, the fundamental skills of foundation paper piecing learned in the Bella Accent Sleeves FPP Course to create blocks with multiple pattern pieces that integrate curves and arcs. Makers will also learn to use templates and create fussy-cut fabric motifs
SESSION 1: Flying Geese Beauties
In this technique course designed for adventurous beginners / intermediate sewists, makers will:
- Learn the hang-pin technique for joining multiple FPP patterns
- Join and trim FPP Units to create “S”-shaped units
- Prepare template and fabric motifs
- Prepare and cut fussy-cut motifs for applique
SESSION 2: Grand Arcs
In this technique course designed for adventurous beginners / intermediate sewists, makers will:
- Piece and assemble arc FPP units (choosing one method of assembly – machine applique or traditional curved piecing)
- Join Grand Arcs following the illustrations in the pattern
- Prepare template and fabric motif
- Prepare and cut fussy-cut motifs for applique
