Colleen Tote Bag Pattern

The Colleen Tote is a classic semi-structured bag with clean lines perfect for everyday use.  With two different views this multi-purpose tote can be changed up to show off large scale prints or you can add interest with a contrasting bottom and handles.

You will learn how to make rolled handles, create an in-panel zipper pocket, work with different fabrics, all while building your confidence. In the end, you’ll have a new go-to accessory to wear with pride!

FEATURES: The interior band was designed to help support many different types of handles, including leather. There is a large zipper pocket to stowaway the essentials and two easy access slip pockets to hold a cell phone or chapstick. The key fob was designed not only to manage keys, but the open loop is left open as a hook for sunglasses.

• 1/2 yd Main Fabric (Canvas, Duck cloth or Denim)
• 1 1/2 yds Lining Fabric (Quilt Cotton, Linen Blends, Wovens)
• 2/3 yd Accent Fabric (Vinyl, Leather, Cork, heavy Denim)
View B:
• 1 yd Main Fabric (Canvas, Duck cloth or Denim)
• 1 1/2 yds Lining Fabric (Quilt Cotton, Linen Blends, Wovens)
For Both Views:
• 1/3 yd Fusible Fleece Interfacing (e.g. Pellon TP971F Thermolam)
• 2 3/4 yds Woven Inerfacing (e.g. Pellon SF101 Shape-flex)
• 1/4 yd Firm Stabilizer (e.g. Pellon 70 Peltex or Decovil Heavy)
• (1) 1/2” Swivel Clasp
• (1) 9” Zipper (at least 10” total length)
• (2) 19” pieces of cording/rope (1/8”-1/4” in diameter)

You should be familiar with the zipper foot and how to insert a zipper.  Also, you should understand terms such as back-stitching, top-stitching, boxing corners, seam allowance, machine basting
