Spellbound Quilted Witch Hat – Intermediate (Saturday Sept 26th 10:00-5:00)

Stitch up something a little magical in the Spellbound Quilted Witch Hat class! In this fun, seasonal project, you’ll create a beautifully structured fabric witch hat using quilting techniques that give it shape, stability, and personality. This is not just a costume piece, it’s a fully quilted, wearable or display-worthy hat designed to be both whimsical and polished.

Throughout the class, you’ll learn how to piece and quilt the hat panels, add structure for a comfortable fit, and assemble the cone and brim for a clean, professional finish. We’ll also cover tips for fabric selection, achieving crisp points, and customizing your hat with embellishments to match your own style, whether spooky, elegant, or playful.

By the end of class, you’ll walk away with a one-of-a-kind quilted witch hat perfect for Halloween, costume events, seasonal décor, or just showing off your sewing magic.

Supply List

• For hat top: 3/4 yard TOTAL fabric in various prints cut into 2 1/2” wide strips. 
• For hat brim: 3/4 yard Fabric 
• Hat Lining: 3/4 Yards Fabric. The underside of the brim will not be patchwork. 
• One additional Fat Quarter or 1/2 yard fabric for the bias binding on the brim edge. 
• One additional Fat Quarter or 1/2 yard fabric for bias binding on the center of the brim. 
• 1 1/2 Yards Pellon Flex Foam
• 3/4 Yard Heavyweight Fusible Interfacing
• 1 Fat Quarter for Optional Sash
• Coordinating thread
• Sewing machine and general sewing supplies
• Rotary cutter, ruler, and cutting mat
• Fabric marking tool
• Pins or clips
• Optional embellishments: ribbon, lace, trims, or decorative stitching threads
